The Five Marks of Mission were endorsed by the Church of Scotland in October 2020, deemed as theologically sound and ‘fit for purpose’ in the 21st century. The Five Marks are: (1) to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom; (2) to teach, baptise and nurture new believers; (3) to respond to human need by loving service; (4) to seek to transform unjust structures of society [...]; and (5) to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.
An excellent booklet on the subject is “Five Marks of Mission: making God’s mission ours.” It has been made available online by Micah Global, a world-wide network of Christians active in development, creation care, humanitarian response and advocacy.
