Kyrgyz Nomad Trail

The Kyrgyz Nomad Trail is a long-distance trail (already more than 2,000 km long, and growing) that crosses Kyrgyzstan, connecting local communities and world travellers with the country’s extraordinary mountain landscapes. Initially conceived in 2019,* the Kyrgyz Nomad Trail has been developed in earnest since 2022 and has now been fully trekked by its primary developer, Yuval Yellin. The Kyrgyz Nomad Trail was launched in June 2024.

* An early long-distance trail concept was developed by Marc Foggin in 2019, provisionally called The Great Tianshan Trail. However, it is Yuval Yellin who ultimately translated this concept into boots-on-the-ground reality, from 2022 to the present. See Yuval’s insightful LongTrails blog posts here.
